In late 2018, the Crescent Town Bridge collapsed. Thankfully no one was around at the time and there were no injuries as a result. The incident provoked some serious concerns about the maintenance and upkeep of the rest of Toronto’s ~170 privately owned pedestrian bridges. City staff have been putting together a report detailing their findings and explaining how we’ll prevent something like this from ever happening again. They came out to my community meeting earlier this week to present their work. If you were unable to make it to the meeting and would like to read through their presentation, please download it below.
